East Asia Institute of Management (EAIM) Announces Home-based Learning to Fight Spread of COVID-19

To contain the rapidly evolving COVID-19 outbreak in Singapore, the Singapore Government’s announced yesterday that all businesses (except those providing essential services) and schools, including institutes of higher learning will work from home; and all schools, including of institutes of higher learning, will implement full home-based learning from 8th April till 4 May 2020.

With the announcement, EAIM, like all other schools and colleges, will be closed to protect the health and safety of students and staff.  All students will not be attending classes from 8th April to 4th May, 2020. During this period, EAIM will extend our home-based online classes, which were originally meant for our Stay-at-home (SHN) students, to include all our students, both locally and overseas, who will now have their studies at home. Details of the online class schedules will be provided to all students on/or before 7th April 2020 and will be posted on the institute’s web-site.

We would like to take this opportunity to assure all our students that they will receive the similar high quality learning experience and ensuring students across all levels and programmes can complete their academic year and graduate smoothly.

With home-based learning, students will have access to teacher-led lectures through ‘live’ streaming (i.e. ONLINE) during scheduled class sessions.  Students are further provided with New Blended Learning (NBL) support through our Learning Management System (LMS) with learning materials, study guides, notes, quizzes, video streaming and real-time lectures (recorded).  Students can access all these learning support at anytime, anywhere and using any device.

We strive to ensure that students can continue to learn in a safe environment; providing for them a sense of stability and confidence amid this difficult time.  Students will resume their studies in the classrooms when the need for these enhanced safe distancing measures are over.

Yours sincerely

Dr. Andrew Chua
Principal,
East Asia Institute of Management
