In September 2018, degrees awarded by EASB's University Partners, Cardiff Metropolitan University and Queen Margaret were accredited by the Chinese Service Centre for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE), a registered corporate body affiliated to the Ministry of Education (MOE), People's Republic of China. This accreditation greatly benefits all graduates from year 2010 onwards.

EASB was honoured to be invited as a founding member of the China-Asean Tourism Education Alliance (CATEA). In the same year, EASB acquired a majority shareholding of the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (NATAS)'s training arm, Tourism Management Institute of Singapore (TMIS).

In May 2010, EASB was among the first batch of private education institutions (PEIs) to be registered with Singapore's Council of Private Education (CPE) under its mandatory Enhanced Registration Framework (ERF) and awarded the 4-year EduTrust Singapore certification.

In 2009, a network of regional offices has been established in China, India, Vietnam and Indonesia to coordinate student recruitment and expand student enrolment.

Under the umbrella of Queen Margaret University, the School of Allied Health Sciences was formed and the Bachelor if Professional Studies - Nursing (Post Registration) was launched.

Received the SME Growth Excellence Recognition Award in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2019.

Private Education Act enacted and saw the formation of the Council of Private Education (CPE), a regulatory body under the Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE) to oversee and regulate the Private Education Industry.

Students enrolment reached over 2,000. The Balestier campus was officially opened by the British High Commissioner, Mr Paul Madden in Dec 2008, and witnessed by the British Minister for Higher Education and Learning. With a land area of 18,000 sq metres and built-up area of 37,000 sq metres, the Balestier campus can house up to 4000 enrolled students with a state-of-the-art learning & leisure facilities.

EASB also offers a range of Master’s and Doctorate level management and business related courses, including the MBA and DBA from the Edinburgh Business School.

One reason for EASB’s sustained success is its Holistic Education Approach (HEA) in producing career-ready, confident, competent, creative and committed professionals that are immediately employable upon graduation. Their quick and ready employment into management and executive positions, by both local companies and multi-national corporations attests to the high value employers attach to qualifications obtained at EASB.

EASB set-up its Professional Development Division to provide short training courses and consultancy services in conjunction with professional bodies such as National Management Association (USA) and the Louis Allen Worldwide.

In 2005, EASB’s reputation was further enhanced by being an early recipient of the CaseTrust for Education award. Only PEIs which are Case-trust certified are allowed to recruit international students. All Case-trust PEIs are required to adopt a Student Protection Scheme (SPS) and students are to be kept under escrow in government designated banks or alternatively, PEIs are required to insure all collected student fees.

In 2004, EASB moved into a self-contained campus in Henderson Road, making it one of the very few PEIs to have their own campus. EASB was upgraded into a management institute and renamed the East Asia Institute of Management. Notwithstanding its new name and elevated status, East Asia Institute of Management continued to be referred to as EASB. The letters "EASB" have been trademarked in several countries, namely Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar and the People’s Republic of China, and serve as the letterings for our corporate logo.

Recognition of EASB’s success came rapidly. In 2003, EASB became one of the first Private Education Organizations (PEOs) to receive the prestigious Singapore Quality Class (SQC) for PEOs Award by SPRING Singapore, a Singapore government agency responsible for standards setting and quality assurance in Singapore. The Singapore Quality Class for PEO award was given to private education institutions to recognize them for attaining a commendable level of performance in their journey to education excellence.

In 2002, EASB entered an articulation and franchise arrangement with Queen Margaret University, and in 2003, tied-up with Edinburgh Business School (Heriot-Watt University) to offer postgraduate programmes.

Informatics S/W was transformed into an academic institute and renamed the East Asia School of Business (EASB).

EASB adopted the UK CATS framework in the design of its diploma and advanced diploma programmes, and the decision made EASB's diploma and advanced diplomas internationally recognized, as well as articulated and accepted by about 30 universities in UK, Australia and N.Z, which gave our students a wide choice of pathways for the final-year degree.

EASB ETEDP Certificate of business English is recognized by more than a dozen overseas universities.

The history of East Asia Institute of Management and its genesis into one of Singapore’s top private education institution (PEI) began 35 years ago when Dr. Andrew Chua, Executive Chairman, started Informatics Software (S/W) in 1984 to train IT software professionals and managers for then burgeoning IT industry.
